Built on the ground of Saigon’s old opium refinery (hence the name Hoa Tuc which translates as ‘opium flower), Hoa Tuc inherits a front terrace from the big courtyard shared with two other Saigon’s favorite restaurants in the same alley. While this terrace allows its diners to enjoy the tropical sun and breeze, the interior of the colonial style house is beautifully transformed into an elegant, classy spot with floral painting on green walls, soft lighting replaced by candles once the sun sets, curvy wrought iron chairs and sofas, and lush silk and velvet cushions.

It is here that you can experience how a touch of contemporary culinary art beautifully transforms Vietnamese dishes into wonderful treats. For the first try, recommendations go for BBQ sea bass with advocado-mango salsa or mustard leaf rolls with prawns and crunchy vegetables
